News broke that Secretary of State Jena Griswold exposed over 130,000 confidential voter records. Their information was meant to remain private to the world. These records include victims of domestic abuse and sexual assaults. The Secretary of State’s office offers confidential voter records as a security measure to keep victims safe. But Secretary of State Griswold exposed their addresses putting victims’ lives in jeopardy.
The private data of Griswold’s opponent for Attorney General, Michael Allen, was exposed. Griswold still has not announced whether or not her office has conducted an investigation to see how this happened or who accessed the files while they were exposed. The victims are left without answers or knowing if they are currently safe.
